"Impressively smart, engaging . . . Filled with secrets and stories that are endlessly beguiling and inviting . . . Reading S., and trying to decode everything [was] an incredibly enjoyable, fun experience, as well as a particularly immersive one. . . . For all its mysteries and intrigues, this is a book about the value of books, and what they can offer us that other storytelling mediums cannot." --Wired

A different way of reading

"A different way of reading. I loved the story of Eric and Jen the most and all the little inserts in the book. This book is definitely going on my bookshelf."

Vysha (5/5)

A book for book lovers

"A book for book lovers! Intriguing, mysterious, engaging, fun and well-produced."

The R. (5/5)

Re-Reading is Likely, but Encouraged!

"This is an absolutely gorgeous book, and the attention to detail put into it is impressive. It even has an old book smell! Do know, though, that, technically, if you want to read it 'properly' (at least, how people online advise you to read it so that it makes the most sense) you will go cover-to-cover at least five times; you could probably even do more, depending on how you choose to read the margin notes in relation to the main story. But, it's worth it! The main story is quite interesting, and, as the layers to the story develop with each pass of the margin notes, it makes for an all-around unique and interesting experience in a book."

Hannah (5/5)

Good, but confusing

"The whole book was everything you want and more, however it can be pretty confusing and never knew how to properly read the book"

Eliseeeee (4/5)

A super fun puzzle!

"A compilicated book for sure, this book might require more time and dedication than you'd think. Consisting of an entirely original novel (that should be read thru before starting in on the margin notes and inserts) and only building in intrigue from there, i highly recommend taking notes as you go in order to keep everything straight in your head and to figure out the enigma that is Straka. A super unique and fun reading experience!"

Kate (5/5)

A Great Adventure

"This book is such an adventure! It reminds me of those Wizardology books with all the inserts, but made for adults!"

Michelle (5/5)

Wow!!

"This book is beautiful!! A book within a book! The concept was so unique and the look of it is absolute perfection"

Cassandra (5/5)

Really fun

"Super cool and fun to read. There were so many more things than I thought there would be. I love this idea for a book"

Sienna (4/5)

yule

"I am getting this for christmas so I don’t know what it’s like on the inside but I can just tell based on the vibes it’s going to be so good I can’t wait"

Angie (5/5)

Mystery story with clues in envelope included

"Solve the mystery as you decipher the handwritten notes beside the text, maps, photos and other random clues to figure out the story beyond the text of the book. Kind of like Harry Potter’s potions text in halfblood prince, but more detailed. When I first saw it in the library I thought it was very old and very defaced but became a treasure trove of discovery. And it looks very vintage!"
