Hans-Leo Ross is currently responsible for vehicle safety at Robert-Bosch Gmbh. After completing his engineering degree at the University of Paderborn, Germany, he planned and implemented safety-relevant plants and systems for the oil and gas industry (e.g. for Preussag-Noell-LGA Gastechnik), as well as for offshore chemical plants. He also worked for HIMA Paul Hildebrandt, where his focus was on the distribution of safety-related control systems in Great Britain and North and Eastern Europe before he became Head of Product Management.

In 2004, he began working for Continental Automotive, where he was responsible for the introduction of functional safety and coordinating safety activities for the entire company. He was also a member of VDA AK 16 and a founding member of WG 16 (the ISO committee for ISO 26262), two committees that developed the essential foundations of functional safety in automobiles.

From 2014 to 2015, he developed safety-related chassis control systems for Mando Corporation Europe as Head of Cross-Functional Development. In this regard, he was tasked with establishing an engineering infrastructure to comply with the requirements of ISO 26262 and led the system and software development for electronic stability and parking brake systems.
