The New York Times bestselling collection of humorous autobiographical essays by the Academy Award nominated actress and star of Up in the Air and Pitch Perfect—a witty memoir filled with laugh out loud essays and behind the scenes Hollywood stories.
Even before she made a name for herself on the silver screen starring in films like PitchPerfect, Up in the Air, Twilight, and Into theWoods, Anna Kendrick was unusually small, weird, and “10 percent defiant.”
At the ripe age of thirteen, she had already resolved to “keep the crazy inside my head where it belonged. Forever. But here’s the thing about crazy: It. Wants. Out.” In Scrappy Little Nobody, she invites readers inside her brain, sharing extraordinary and charmingly ordinary stories with candor and winningly wry observations.
With her razor-sharp wit, Anna recounts the absurdities she’s experienced on her way to and from the heart of pop culture as only she can—from her unusual path to the performing arts (Vanilla Ice and baggy neon pants may have played a role) to her double life as a middle-school student who also starred on Broadway to her initial “dating experiments” (including only liking boys who didn’t like her back) to reviewing a binder full of butt doubles to her struggle to live like an adult woman instead of a perpetual “man-child.”
Enter Anna’s world and follow her rise from “scrappy little nobody” to somebody who dazzles on the stage, the screen, and now the page—with an electric, singular voice, at once familiar and surprising, sharp and sweet, funny and serious (well, not that serious).

Reviews
Just a really fun read!!
"What can I say. Just a really fun read. Listened to the audiobook first but knew I had to have a hard copy too. I loved it that much!"
— Emilie (5/5)
A delightful read!
"I read this years ago and several things stood out to me: Kendrick’s confidence (which might surprise even her), her feminist attitude, and her conspiratorial tone which made the book so easy and enjoyable to read. I reread it last week and I flew through it, and with a few more years under my belt, picked up on more things that I hadn’t appreciated before. Anna Kendrick’s Scrappy Little Nobody is funny, humble, full of great stories, touching, and inspiring. I feel like a slightly better version of myself for reading it and recommend it wholeheartedly to any mature reader."
— Rebecca (5/5)
Hilarious
"Anna Kendrick's quick wit, even in storytelling, will have you eagerly anticipating the next story"

Chuckled
"Similar to Anna, I enjoyed this book and the personal side shown. So human, things she thinks and does but are too hard to claim as our own."
— BookWorm (4/5)
Disappointing
"I listened to the audio book for this because I realized listening to celebrity books is pretty entertaining in itself. I quite enjoy Anna Kendrick and figured her book, and her reading it, would be brilliant. Well, it started absolutely horribly. Like she was reading a stranger's book & the material was totally foreign to her. But I'm happy to say that it greatly improved and I really enjoyed hearing about the early years of her life. For example, I had no idea she started in Broadway as a child actor! Some of her post-move-to-LA stories were also kind of interesting but at that point it was more of her relatable, quirky, girl-next-door humour that made it good. It definitely dulled towards the end and I had expected more."

Wanted more
"Funny and sweet book. Focusing on her early life on Broadway, her tiny body and all her quirks. Interestingly she talks more about her time on Twilight then Pitch Perfect! award season, stylists, and George Clooney! She is very self deprecating and shows all her warts but with humour. If you like Mindy Kahlings books I would recommend it. If you are looking for Pitch Perfect gossip there is none. Still a funny and enjoyable read maybe not laugh out loud but definitely a get to know her better and like her more read."
— Chadwick (4/5)
Charming!
"I don't love celebrity memoirs, truthfully (I read this because of a prompt for the Read Harder challenge). But, if you find Anna Kendrick charming & endearing in interviews & on talk shows, you will be equally charmed here. It's laugh out loud funny in a couple of spots. And she makes you feel not quite so alone in your quirky pickadillos. Stars, they're just like us!"
— Shellsbells (4/5)
A definite Must Read!
"A relatable, fun, funny and charming book! I laughed out loud on more than one occasion. She is as charming and lovable in this book as she appears to be in interviews. I would definitely highly recommend this book - no doubt!"
— Melon (5/5)
The Perfect Book for Your Commute!
"The book was honest and funny from the very beginning. It's a great book to listen to on your commute or a road trip and will keep you engaged. The audio book is the perfect way to listen to it, as the author reads it herself, giving additional depth to the stories. Really enjoyed listening to this book!"
