Joan earned a degree in Psychology, with honors, from the University of Pennsylvania and she earned a master's degree in Instructional Technology from the University of Oregon.
She and her husband David, live in Santa Rosa, California, and hour north of San Francisco where their adults son, Daniel, lives.
Together the love to present Always Sam and Siempre Sam to children and families in libraries, schools, community groups and other gathering places. They are committed to giving back and being of service and love to advance Sam's mission of leading with kindness.
