Interesting and easy to read/understand!

"Inspiring and insightful! I couldn't put it down. You can tell the author has lots of knowledge on the topics, but I love the way it's written using language that the general population can understand."

"When you read this book you will start moving your body every day. When you learn that most diseases can be prevented by exercise it’s kinda hard not to exercise. I highly recommend this book."

Add Spark to your workout!

"This book is very well written and readable even though it is filled with a lot of scientific evidence for the benefits of exercise. The author is very enthusiastic about his topic and engages the reader with each chapter. Anyone who works out regularly knows the good feeling you get from your workout but the book explains the why and the how. You will want to go for run immediately!"

MUST READ

"This was such a good read! Dr. Ratey provides both scientific and anecdotal evidence of why exercise is vital to your mind and body! He has thoroughly convinced me that exercise is the best medicine to many mental issues and though I am not fit at the moment, I now want to try to become active so that my mind and body supports me for many years to come."

An excuse to exercise / Motivates you to find a physical activity you love

"Want an excuse to stay in shape through, mostly exercise? Well this book goes in depth about the cons of a sedentary life and the pros, that many of us are missing out, on enjoying physical activity. I recommend this book to someone who has a mental health disorder or someone who loves learn about human anatomy and physiology (specifically brain chemistry). This book opens one's eye into all sorts of things like: why doctor don't always know what best for you, and some simple mental disorders can be ameliorated through changes in life style, and shows you how stressing your body occasionally, can be a good thing. For someone who already exercised on a regular basis before reading this book, gave me even more motivation to keep running and let myself remind me why I exercise. To end this I will say the only cons I've found in reading this book is that its really short for someone who wants to get more in depth in the body, can sometimes be repetitive with repeating some facts over again, can be very biased towards the benefits of exercise and not show how other life choices can influence brain chemistry and happiness. Overall though, this is a 10/10 must read."

PLEASE PLEASE READ THIS BOOK

"EVERYONE MUST SEE THE IMPORTANCE OF THE LINK BETWEEN THE BRAIN AND EXERCISE - PLEASE READ THIS BOOK - IT WILL FOREVER CHANGE YOU."

Great book! Deep insight into the benefits of exercising

"John Ratey has written a fantastic book on the benefits of and science behind exercising. It tackles the major personal issues we all go through including stress, anxiety and depression; their link to chronic diseases, and the science and the benefits of exercise in alleviating these issues. The story of Dr. Robert Pyles who was diagnosed with cancer and beat it through running is a very compelling story. Keep your highlighter handy!! This book is not a one time read and put away. I find myself going back to it time and again so it serves as a great reference for me."
