Simplistic writing

"I had high hopes for this book after reading the reviews. Clearly we have different expectations. I found the book to be very simplistically written and the storyline so unlikely to happen that I couldn’t even finish the book as I felt like I was wasting my time."

Your next holidays reading!

"I bought and read this book within two weeks. This is my first time reading for this writer. The way the history is counted makes you stick to the end. I enjoyed all the twists and turns which many of them I didn’t saw it coming. The plot is very clever, fast paced and straightforward. The characters are well developed. If you are searching for a good thriller, easy to read and with an interesting and refreshing history, this is the one. I recommend this book."

Okay

"I gave this a 3. 5/5. I think the authors writing was good and the first 2 parts of the book I really enjoyed. However, the twists were too much of the reader needs to suspend their beliefs and it kinda lost me."

Quick read

"Not bad, but not great. Started out strong but pretty ridiculous ending."

A super entertaining popcorn thriller!

"“𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐝? 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐈 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐦𝐞𝐬𝐬? 𝐌𝐲 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐠𝐠𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐮𝐭 𝐩𝐢𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐧𝐨 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐥. ” The Business Trip is the definition of a popcorn thriller: it is SO much fun. The less known about going into this book, the better. The premise starts with two women boarding the same flight, but as the days pass and mysterious text messages are sent, those who know Stephanie and Jasmine suspect that all is not okay. I loved the structure of the different parts; part 1 involves both Stephanie and Jasmine’s points of view, with both mentioning different characters. Part 2 highlights those same mentioned characters but now the reader gets their points of view, which I thought was very creative. Jessie Garcia shows a knack for making characters that you love to hate (looking at you, Trent), but I also loved the news team that Stephanie works with, and the way they banded together alongside her neighbour when they had a hunch something wasn’t right; I would’ve loved more time with them. Garcia keeps things moving - I couldn’t put the book down and read it in two sittings, partly because I was kept guessing throughout. Do you have to suspend some belief (like who can just buy a plane ticket at the airport counter these days!?), and did I wish the epilogue had a bit more punch? Sure, but none of that diminished how much fun I had with this story. The Business Trip is a complete blast from fast-paced start to finish. I hear the audiobook, with its multiple narrators, adds another layer to the absolute fun of this book."

"The Business Trip is a fast paced book where crazy meets crazy. Expect the unexpected but that wont prepare you for what is to come. Two women Jasmine (running away from home) and Stephanie (on a business trip) meet on a plane Stephanie has the world at her feet and Jasmine is just glad to escape with her life. Both disappear. Both have secrets. Both send eerie text messages citing the same man's name. Jessie Garcia leads the reader down a twisted path that will both surprise and shock you. I will warn you its a hard book to put down."
