Full of fluff

"Not terrible. I like the clinical stuff from experts. But there are far too many examples and extra fluff. For example, ""we gazed around his office, which was jammed with files and decorated with photos of his brood, many of which were vintage eighties and hanging askew. "" Just sounds like writing meant for a graphic novel, not for a self help/psychology book. Half of the book is unnecessary that, if not present, wouldnt have made the book any worse. I took university writing for years and this book was a crime of telling instead of showing (technique to show not tell). Regardless, just not needed in this context altogether. But thats just my opinion as i prefer more facts in non fiction than all the stories and elaborations explaining the way the room looks or how the person was dressed. Slow read, hard to get into."

Interesting read

"Interesting read and who they interview through the book, however was looking for more"

Kelly (3/5)

Great book

"While the book is directed at women, the concepts apply to anyone dealing with confidence issues. Highly recommend."

Scott (5/5)

To read!

"Short but extremely interesting essay on the so-called confidence gap between men and women. The two authors write beautifully and engagingly. They support their claims with plenty of scientific studies, and are not afraid to nuance these claims when the science is unclear."

Was okay - very long read

"Was very excited to start reading The Confidence Code. However I found it a very long read. There is just too much explanation behind every scenario. I had to start picking out a few sentences from each chapter. Overall it's a good read with a good message, however the points could have been made in 50 pages."
