Great reference book for cookies!

"Quite exhaustive books about cookies, written for North American but includes measurements in grams which is very appreciated. Good descriptions and detailed instructions for each recipes. Great reference book."

Carmela (5/5)

Excellent resource for any baker

"A wonderful replacement for my tattered, falling apart, Rose's Cookies book from 1994. Rose is the consummate baker and teacher."

Toronto R. (5/5)

Great addition to her collection

"Another comprehensive book by Rose, written with metric measurements. Lack of photos is hard to contend with if you're just flipping through the book wanting to find a random recipe that looks good."

Sam. (4/5)

Not great

"The recipes in this book are very basic yet tedious. I’ve made far better cookies from recipes that I’ve found online. Such a disappointment."

Mina (2/5)

This is a number one go-to cookie baking book

"Easy to follow recipes, clearly written in careful detail. Recipes give instructions for both food processor and stand mixer. Each recipe I've tried so far has been very good."

May A. (5/5)

Great cookie reference

"Well written. I do wish all the recipes had a picture. I didn’t love all the cookie recipes inside but do think that is a personal preference of taste."

Melissa (3/5)

Good if You’re a Baker

"The recipes are okay, but there are many that lack photos and most recipes are for higher level bakers. Not really for family bonding time."

VaWi (2/5)

Definitely the book for all things cookies

"This book is densely packed with just about every cookie recipe you could need and in that way, really is a cookie bible. In many ways, it also gives off the feeling of being that recipe book that had been passed down from grandmother to grandmother for ages, and if you’re someone like me who doesn’t have any recipes like that, this book is a good substitute. The book was organized really nicely, separating the different types of cookies in very reasonable ways. The pictures were also phenomenal and they had some for most cookies. That said, there were a few that I couldn’t imagine in my own mind and definitely would have appreciated a picture for as well. Either way though, the book is densely packed with cookie recipes and very detailed instructions. One of my personal favourite parts about the book was the baking gems section with each recipe that gave tips and tricks that not only increase your chance of success but help you understand why (and make you a better baker in the process). However, the absolute best thing about this book was that the measurements were in grams and cups!! I love the assurance that I’ve got the ingredients measured out right and this simple detail made ALL the difference in my mind. The only con I really had with the book is that most of these cookies seem very labour intensive. That’s not a bad thing per-say, but it does mean that if you’re just looking for a quick cookie recipe to whip up on a weekday night, this is probably not the book for you. However, if you want to challenge yourself to bake something new or better, then this book will most certainly help you do it. It’s large and not necessarily easy, but it’s results look like they’ll be delicious."
