If You Liked ""Next Level"" , You Won't Enjoy This
"I bought this book recently and have already read it in its entirety. The book was endorsed by Dr. Staci Sims whom I admire and follow her advice, so I thought I'd give it a try. Well, needless to say, I was rather disappointed with Dr. Gabrielle Lyon's book. She discusses nutrional intake in a very generalized way, not taking into account the different nutritional needs for the various stages of our lives and gender differences. Additionally she favours choosing meat as a main protein source and relies heavily on low-sugar protein powder in her recipes. Clearly not whole food plant-based focussed. As someone over the age of 50, vegetarian and active I found this disheartening. The one and only part of the book I found useful was Part 3 on exercising. The visual references and descriptions were helpful so I'll give her credit for that. To summarize, if you enjoyed ""Next Level"" by Dr. Staci Sims and are looking for a similar book, pass on this one. Not worth it."
