Lambo (4/5)

A truly important history from a leading Ukrainian historian

"Absolutely brilliant history of Ukraine from the country’s most admired historian. A must read for anyone interested in the origins of this great nation who has had to fight for its independence over the centuries."

Laur L. (5/5)

appropriate

"somewhat difficult to keep placenames and names of important/key persons straight while reading; however, very good history of the region"

John M. (4/5)

Beautifully written and complied story

"Well written, thorough. A pleasure to read- reads as a story. слава Україні!"

Nat. (5/5)

Great Read !

"From the early Vikings through the Slavs and the Cossacks, the various empires who controlled the territory at one time or another of what is now Ukraine, through two world wars and the communist period, it is incredible how Ukraine's history has been tangled over the centuries. Nevertheless the Ukrainian's sense of self identity has survived to this day and is now fighting to regain total independence. This book puts everything that is happening now in perspective."

M. D. (5/5)

Beautiful country, with internal strife a problem at its’ early stages

"An excellent history of this beautiful country that has been plagued by Russia, and often bad (controlled by Russia) leadership which did not consider or forge a dedicated path to democracy."

Gary (5/5)

A Comprehensive History of Ukraine and its Fight to Maintain Independence.

"This comprehensive history of Ukraine gives understanding to the current politics playing before us in 2022. Vital to understanding the 2014 and 2022 conflicts with Russia is how Ukraines history with the Romans, the Ottoman, the Cossacks, the Germans, and the Russians have shaped their nation. A must read."
