Second chance romance

"Jack and Ellie meet and fall in love in the summer of 1950, in rural, lakeside Tennessee, at the ages of 18 and 19. Jack is local and poor, and Ellie, middle class, is from Indiana. They start making plans for a future together but are torn apart by circumstance and miscommunication. In 1962, Ellie, a renowned astronomer, receives a mysterious package. In it contains a book written by Jack about a young couple whose romance is cut short. Ellie realizes that this is their story. Can they find their way back to each other after all the years and obstacles? The Keeper of Stars is a beautiful second chance romance. It was an easy, pleasant read. The writing was very simple, the dialogue basic, and the plot mostly predictable. I would have liked to learn more about Ellie's work in astronomy, as this was why I was interested in reading the book. I didn't think it was realistic that Ellie never visited her beloved Aunt Clara again after that fateful summer. I also felt bad the treatment of Sara, even though she made some bad choices."
