When you're a quilt instead of a sheet, being a ghost is hard! But it does mean you can float around in cold weather . . . an adorable picture book about a ghost who wants to share the magic of the season with his chilly sheet friends.
The little ghost quilt loves being out in the cold. For once, he doesn't overheat, and he likes how the snowflakes make his patches look polka-dotted. His friends, who are sheets, get too cold in the winter weather and have to stay inside, but the little ghost quilt doesn't mind. He enjoys slowly drifting along on his own.
On one of his frosty flights, he sees something happening in the town. People are putting up warm, twinkling lights, and there's a fun festive feeling everywhere — like Halloween, his favorite season, but with snowmen and wreaths and candles in windows instead of pumpkins. He is filled with excitement and happiness looking at all the beautiful decorations and joyous people, yet he can't help but feel sad that his friends can't be there.
But then, after almost getting caught in a blizzard, the little ghost quilt is struck by inspiration . . .

A Toronto Star Bestseller One of Quill & Quire's Favourite Young Readers Titles of 2025 "This quietly lovely holiday tale underscores the true meaning of the holidays: friendship and togetherness. The illustrations rely on a muted palette with spots of vivid colors; like a quilt, they’re soft and delicate." —Kirkus Reviews "This story about acceptance and kindness is a change of pace from many holiday picture books, and the humorously detailed illustrations provide plenty of added appeal." —School Library Journal
"Nason’s calm, evocative text embraces the little ghost quilt’s contemplative nature, while Eggenschwiler’s sepia and grayscale illustrations match the winter setting with touches of color in the quilt and in the decorations reflecting the season’s sense of warmth and wonder." —The Horn Book
"It's impossible not to feel the weather and the joy that the little ghost quilt experiences on his winter outing. . . . [T]his picture book is more than a seasonal tome to share with young children. It's a story of kindness and compassion; it's a book about understanding what others are experiencing and how to help expand the scope of their lives." —CanLit for Little Canadians

Love!
"Thank you to Netgalley and Tundra books for allowing us to reward and enjoy this book. We loved the first one so much that of course we had to get book two (didn’t forget to review it yes I did). We read this more than once because myself and my daughter both loved it. They are the cutest books with the best illustrations. I’d read a million of these books. We would recommend it to everyone."

Warm and supportive story
"This sweet story of a ghost helping his friends stay warm in the winter outside. As the main ghost is a quilt ghost and his friends are sheet ghosts, he has that extra layer of warmth. It is sweet and heart warming story to read."

A joyful celebration of the season.
"A true celebration of the meaning of the holiday season. And again super illustrations."

Lovely story that isn't spooky
"A nice follow up to the first book in the series, although you don't really have to read them in order. The artwork is lovely and continues to walk a line between somber and whimsical. Ghost Quilt is again discovering things about his uniqueness and how it impacts his friendships with the other ghosts who are sheets. This one is set around Christmas, so it makes a great gift for littles who may be looking for something that ties together both Halloween and Christmas. And who may not be ready for Jack Skellington and Sally. All in all, the lessons here are again conveyed softly and with sensitivity. The only thing that I found a bit problematic was that there seemed to be a few jumps in the plot here and there. Nothing major but I did have a moment of pause. If you are looking for a fun book about ghosts for young ones, and you also want to tackle Christmas, this is a must. If you're looking for a nice story and some pretty pictures for bedtime reading, also a great choice."
