Dragons. Prophecies. War. Friendship.

"Tui T. Sutherland’s Wings of Fire series brings a fresh perspective to the fantasy genre by making dragons the main characters and not just sidekicks or villains. In this world, dragons aren’t just creatures, they have tribes, politics, emotions, and destinies. Book One: The Dragonet Prophecy introduces us to five young dragons: Clay, Tsunami, Glory, Starflight, and Sunny. These dragonets have been raised in secret because a prophecy says they will stop the brutal war that’s torn the dragon tribes apart. But when they escape their cave, they find a world more dangerous and morally gray than they expected. What makes this series stand out is how deeply it dives into character development, while still keeping the action fast-paced and the world immersive. Each book follows a different dragonet’s point of view, allowing readers to understand different tribes and personalities, from fierce SeaWings to secretive NightWings to icy, emotionless IceWings. While the plot has familiar fantasy beats such as prophecies, battles, lost heirs, it’s told with humor, heart, and a surprising level of depth for a middle grade series. Themes like destiny vs. choice, loyalty, trauma, and prejudice are explored in a way that's accessible to young readers but still resonates with older ones."

"Wonderful series. My 9 yr old son loves these. This is the first chapter book series he's read, typically he reads graphic novels, and now he wants them all."

Wings of Fire

"We are purchasing these books for our grandchildren and they cannot put the books down. We alternate between the graphic novels and the chapter novels, but they prefer the graphic novels."

Love it!

"My daughter, 9, loves these books. We have bought her all of them. Her friends, a mix of boys and girls, are also obsessed with them. She's so excited to read what happens next that she picks up the book any time she can. The characters are really well developed. There is adventure, suspense, and always something new. Unlike other novels for this age group, it is not repetitive, which is a breath of fresh air."
