Maps of Middle Earth

"Good maps, but some text is very small. Also in the original edition the maps were larger, brighter in colour,, and glossy. These are smaller in size, with morecsubdued plainer colour, and have a regular paper matte type of finish. Still, they are pretty decent and offer a good visual representation. The book is excellent and a very good size for rreading comfortably. , more so than the original which was large in size. I recommend this edition if you cannot get the original which had the text in one volume and the maps in another. I say so because i really liked the bigger, brighter, glossy maps. This edition is one book with maps inserted inside. If you are buying to read the book primarily this edition is great and the maps are acceptable for their purpose, decent in size and well drawn. They do have a certain earthy character to them due to the darker colours and matte finish and remind me a bit of a WWII map so they too have a certain appeal. At the end of the day, I'm happy and satisfied with my purchase."
