Brinda completed her Masters in Architecture from Sir J. J. College of Architecture, Mumbai, India and her thesis was on Conservation of Rock-cut caves in Mumbai. Subsequently she was commissioned to prepare a conservation report on these caves and she was appointed on the experts' panel of the Mumbai High Court to look into their preservation and upkeep. Needless to say, having worked on the cave sites of Mumbai, Ajanta and other parts of Western India for over a decade, she has begun to see meaning in the curious symbols, inscriptions and other peculiarities at these sites, which inspired her to write her first fictional book titled "The Path". Brinda co-founded THE BOMBAY HERITAGE WALKS on World Heritage Day (April 1999), an organization that conducts architectural walking tours in Mumbai. In 2006 she was awarded the Charles Wallace India Trust fellowship to undertake 2 months training in UK on management of World Heritage Sites. During the course of her conservation practice, several of the projects that she has worked on, have won awards. Brinda divides her time in USA and India and continues to be a consultant on Indian projects.
