"This ain’t your tourist’s Peggy’s Cove. Photographer Kent Martin sees things from a different lens. At the Peggy’s Cove Preservation Area, Martin reveals wide landscapes and ever-changing skies, as well as the smaller world of mosses, birds, flowers and people."

KENT MARTIN first picked up a camera in his teens. He started photographing the Peggy’s Cove Barrens after returning to photography after a long career as a filmmaker. Though he was initially drawn to the wide-open landscape and ever-changing skies on the Barrens, Kent’s keen eye attends to the world of shrubs, flowers, animals and people as well.

Kent produced or directed over 100 films in his fifty-year career, mostly for the National Film Board of Canada. His productions have garnered many awards and the feature documentary Westray was shortlisted for an Academy Award. He lives in St. Margaret's Bay, Nova Scotia.
