Dr. Muzafar Riyaz is a distinguished researcher in the field of evolutionary biology. Throughout his research journey, he focused on understanding the evolutionary dynamics and biodiversity of insects with special emphasis on moths. His doctoral thesis explored the co-evolutionary relationship among Noctuoidea moths that also served as a benchmark study from India. Driven by an unwavering commitment to research excellence, he has published several scientific papers in reputed scientific journals, and submitted over 38 complete mitogenomes to GENBANK (NCBI). He has made significant contributions to the understanding of insect phylogenetics, diversity, and taxonomy. Born in 1994, in the beautiful region of Kashmir, his passion for the natural world and its evolution was ignited at an early age.
Dr. Savarimuthu Ignacimuthu is a Jesuit scientist. Born in 1948, he holds a PhD and DSC. He was vice-chancellor of Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, and University of Madras, Chennai. He worked as a director, at the Entomology Research Institute, Loyola College, Chennai, during the period from 1996 to 2018. Since June 2018, he is been working as director at Xavier Research Foundation, St Xavier's College, Palayamkottai. He has over 40 years of the research expertise and has authored more than 80 books and over 750 scientific papers.
