Ryan (5/5)

It's okay

"Half way through, it's okay. . . the summary is more interesting than it actually is. A bit disappointed."

Joanne (1/5)

Just alright imo

"Didn’t find enough depth in the personalities of the characters and a lot of convenience in just throwing in any idea that supported story direction without much thought Just my own opinion of course but I stopped halfway through knowing I won’t buy the others of the series"

CCKk (3/5)

Fun Fantasy Read!

"This is a fun read! The plot is delightfully complex and definitely kept me turning the pages to find out what happened next. I expect I will soon seek out the sequel… Four stars because the prose was occasionally distracting and not as seamless as one would wish. And because there could have been more depth in the character development to make me feel for them more deeply."

James Islington was born and raised in southern Victoria, Australia. His influences growing up were the stories of Raymond E. Feist and Robert Jordan, but it wasn't until later, when he read Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn series -- followed soon after by Patrick Rothfuss' Name of the Wind -- that he was finally inspired to sit down and write something of his own. He now lives with his wife and daughter on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria.
