Bradley R. Franco is Assistant Professor of History at the University of Portland where he teaches courses on ancient and medieval history. His research focuses on the intersection of religion, politics, culture, and society in late medieval Italy. He has published on episcopal power in Siena and the role of legends in the creation of civic identity.
Beth A. Mulvaney is Professor of Art History at Meredith College where she teaches Art History and is Head of the Art Department. In addition to her research on the nuns of Santa Maria dei Miracoli in Venice and the art associated with that votive church, her scholarly interests include more generally the art of the Trecento and Quattrocento. She also has published on the frescoes of St. Francis at the Basilica of San Francesco in Assisi, and Duccio’s Maestà of Siena.
