Kerry Dunnington was born in the suburbs of Baltimore, Maryland, where she lived with her parents and five siblings. At an early age, she developed her palate for fresh and delicious tasting meals prepared from scratch by her mother—a self-taught home cook. Kerry has published three cookbooks, including Tasting the Seasons and This Book Cooks, which have won nine national books awards. Owner of Kerry Dunnington Catering since 1992, Kerry also has been a widely-read food columnist, culinary consultant, food judge and recipe developer for more than three decades. She makes frequent appearances at farmer’s markets around Maryland where she collaborates with farmers, food vendors and artisans to showcase their fresh bounty with recipes from her cookbooks. Kerry’s home – and the kitchen where she creates her trademark dishes enjoyed by her husband, Nick and their Norwich terrier, Caramel – is in a century old co-op in Baltimore’s historic Tuscany-Canterbury neighborhood.
