Reviews

Want The world starts out with needs. . . . . . your born, you need food, shelter, water. And wants, become something you learn later on. This title, opens your eyes to the possibilities. Want=desires

"BEST BOOK EVER! I was raised mormon, and sex is something for after marriage, something I wasnt working towards. My sexual Journey boosted me into confidence to wrestle the endless torment of an entire mormon town. The stares, and the comments, the whispers. . . . . no longer effected me, because i learned to love myself enough, that the absence of others love doesnt affect me. This book, just proved, that many woman all over the world, feel the same shame of even ""wanting"" sex. Its open my eyes, to my thoughts, and thoughts of other woman. That it isnt a shame. Sex is not shameful. Its an entirely new part of yourself (that is okay for men to explore. . . . not woman) This book, made it okay for me to no longer feel guilt for the way i see things. And im more confident than ever. Thank you to this book."

helps boost confidence!

"i originally bought the book for sh*ts and giggles, but ended up really loving the book. some of the passages in the book were extremely relatable and hilarious, knowing that other women share their stories and people can relate to them is more powerful than anything."

Woman over 30? Read this book!

"I firmly believe every woman over 30 should read this book. It changed my life. I feel in control of my body again and I'm not stressed or worried about the long list of health issues I was having. Incredible, it felt like she was speaking to me. Highly recommended!!!"

WANT, An Anthology of Women's Sexual Psyche

"This book is a wonderful look into the sexual psyche of women, which is something about which we don't often talk. The fact that the anonymous submissions are sectioned is helpful, because you can avoid triggering topics or those that are not of interest. I read all of them, and while this book is not insanely ""revolutionary"", it is an interesting read that holds merit with every included submission."

Want

"A fabulous read that I recommend to any woman out there to read… also I clearly need to get a copy of “my secret garden” by Nancy Friday which is referenced in parts of the book but not necessary to read before hand."

Want is illuminating not just about women’s inner desires, but also about how they might fold these fantasies into their wider lives. For that reason, the book isn’t just about sex; it’s a brilliant, full-bodied account of womanhood.”
Irish Independent

Want makes for addictive reading.”
The Guardian

“An apt title, as so many of the fantasies are rooted in being desired, hungered for, catered to and pleasured in ways that are presumably lacking in the letter writers’ lives. . . . There is plenty of humor, light and spark in this book.”
The Washington Post

“[Anderson’s] prose is clear, sensitive and funny. . . . Filthy or forlorn, these fantasies are intensely personal, but this book demonstrates that they are inevitably shaped by society too. As such, the demographic details accompanying each anonymous contribution offer fascinating context. . . . In a world that still expends so much energy limiting women’s experience, the unanalysed and largely unedited fantasies in Want are undeniably galvanising. Emboldened by their peculiar universality, hopefully readers will feel less reluctant to share their own.”
iNews

“An addictive and compelling read.”
Woman and Home

Want is an intriguing cabinet of curiosities showcasing the sheer glorious variety of female desire.”
The Guardian

“Extraordinary. . . . Far from being irrelevant to a sexually liberated age, [Want] feels deeply pertinent.”
