This is bbok two in the series and follows the 14th legion as they strive to subdue the southern tribes of Britannia and bring them under the heel of Rome.They struggle to breing the tribes to battle as they lay seige to their hill forts and then have to fight a war of ambush and stealth in the far west where the Britons hide in the deep vallys and heavily forseted lands led by a leader known as Carcatcus. Until the Romans defeat these tribes and contro them they cannot move northwards to subdue the other tribes an all the time they conquer the Druids incite rebellion. This is the story of a single Contubernium within the 14th legion and their daily lives and struggles.
