Kim Colegrove is the author of Mindfulness for Warriors and the founder of Pause First Academy -an organization that provides online and in-person wellness and resilience training for society's warriors, protectors, guardians, and healers. Kim is an experienced keynote speaker, and in 2022, she was awarded the Mid-America CIT (Critical Incident Team) Teacher of the Year award. Colegrove is the widow of a first responder who died by suicide. She previously taught mindfulness in corporate settings such as Garmin International, United Way, Department of Veterans Affairs, andThe National Court Reporters Association. After her husband's death, Kim turned her attention to helping warriors learn how to cope with stress and trauma. She now leads a team of culturally competent instructors who offer resilience training with a focus on holistic wellbeing and work-life balance.
Becca Anderson comes from a long line of teachers and preachers from Ohio and Kentucky. The teacher side of her family led her to become a woman's studies scholar and to her career writing about awesome women. A multiple-time bestselling author, Becca Anderson is known for many things, including her books Badass Affirmations and The Book of Awesome Women, her Your Blessings blog and Every Day Thankful Facebook page, as well as her many appearances on both national and bay area tv and radio shows such as ABC, NBC, and NPR. She credits her spiritual practice and daily prayer with helping her recover from cancer. An avid collector of affirmations, meditations, prayers and blessings, she helps run a "Gratitude and Grace Circle" that meets monthly at homes, churches and bookstores in the San Francisco Bay Area where she currently resides. “I became aware of Kim Colegrove’s work with Pause First Academy and have read her books, which have saved lives of warriors who, as stoics do, tried to tough it out on their own until they felt there was nowhere to turn. Thank goodness they found Kim’s book, The Mindfulness For Warriors Handbook. My great hope is that even more find Wellness Warrior Style, which offers profoundly helpful practices and empowering stories of warriors who faced their trauma and reclaimed their mental wellness and their lives in the process. I could not be more proud of Kim and how she gives back to those who give so much.”
—Becca Andeson, author of Badass Affirmations
