William 'Bill' Rooney retired from the Central Intelligence Agency with more than thirty-five years of experience in the Directorate of Operations' Clandestine Service. Among other achievements in his highly successful career, he received the coveted 'Wild Bill' Donavan award and the Distinguished Career Intelligence Medal. He served a number of years overseas in foreign postings and spent a good part of his career as a senior executive in the DO. After leaving the Agency, he dedicated himself to an additional five years of working on railroad security at a time when terrorists were carrying out a series of bombing attacks against foreign rail stations and trains. Rooney wrote his first book entitled Repeat: Whiskey Tango Foxtrot in 2011, and currently lives with his wife in the suburbs of Washington. D.C.
