Melissa Hintz is a novelist and poet who left the corporate world to pursue her passion for writing. With her left brain exhausted from years as a number-crunching actuary, Melissa's right brain was eager to let her imagination run wild again. She loves creating complex characters and plot twists in her novels, as well as the challenge of condensing a story or emotion into just a few words in her poetry.
Her first book, "On Chagrin Boulevard: A Collection of Fluff, Fables, Fabrications, Flapdoodle, Free Verse and Flash Fiction," uses flash fiction and poetry to explore universal themes of love, desire, loss, and joy.
When she's not writing, Melissa enjoys traveling, exploring nature, indulging in good conversation, and discovering new books, music, and restaurants. She treasures her friends and family, as well as her four writing groups: The Lliterary Llamas, WOW, the Thursday Poets, and the Occasional Poets.
Originally from Madison, Wisconsin, Melissa lived and worked in New York for twenty years before returning to the Midwest, where she currently resides with her husband Jim in Cleveland. She cherishes Cleveland's rich literary environment, with its libraries, bookstores, avid readers, and talented writers. The only thing she wishes she could change? The winters.
