Marian Sepulveda's writing career began in the seventh grade, with stories she shared with friends and family. A serious interest came later, with an agent submitting her works to New York publishers. During her working years with General Telephone Company, she woke at 4:30 a.m. to write before going to work. During this time, as an amateur historian, she began work on the story that would eventually be called Where Eagles Dance. When her late husband Steve Sepulveda developed Alzheimer's, the story languished for many years until a friend challenged her to embrace her muse. This was a story that insisted on being told.
