It is about a 15 year old, girl who is a triplet and goes missing while on vacation at the Catskill with her parents. 10 years later Karin is a court reporter and is on a case where an obstetrician is on trial for putting up babies for adoption who he has taken from some of his patients to give to woman who are unable to bear children. While her twin brother Jonathan who is a cardiologist and during rounds he comes across a patient who looks just like Adeline.
