Radka Piro is a bookworm, a passionate traveler, and a creative storyteller. After studying foreign languages, she set out to explore the distant corners of the world and discover her true purpose. Now, she is a successful writer and editor, based in the Czech Republic.

After studying arts, Carmen Saldana began her career as a graphic designer in advertising agencies. She now works as a freelance illustrator. Focusing on children's books, she finds inspiration in nature, especially furry animals, birds, bugs, and leaves. She lives in Gijon, a small rainy city in northern Spain.

"PreS-Gr 1–Through several flaps and substantial text, this interactive board book introduces readers to many types of animals and their special characteristics. With a plot featuring Mama Goose as she tries to find one of her goslings, they all wander around the pond looking for the little one. During this search journey, the goslings learn about habitats, fauna, and what makes animals and their babies unique. The earthy palette and two-page layout capture not only the fauna but also the flora that comprises each animal’s home. The small and detailed text makes this board book more suitable for preschoolers than for babies and can serve as a springboard for other informational books about each animal included. VERDICT An optional title for public libraries and ¬preschools looking to expand their nonfiction animal collections." —Sujei Lugo, School Library Journal

"The illustrations are beautiful, in a watercolor style that may actually be digital illustrations. The animals and plants featured are all realistic in color and form. Perfect for younger readers who love fact and science books." —Nicole Guerra-Coon, Youth Services Book Review

"This is a highly-informative book with interesting facts, clear illustrations, and a fun format that will attract young readers." —Puget Sound Council for Reviewing Children's and Young Adult Literature
