New YA Fantasy Favourite

"What a remarkable book! Ava Reid is an expert storyteller. Gorgeous world building, relatable characters with depth and grit, beautiful dark academia aesthetic, impressive writing style, and so much more. Absolutely couldn't put this book down - would highly recommend!"

4. 5 stars for me :D

"Personally, I really liked the book. I enjoyed reading it. It was a bit confusing at first and in the beginning there was a lot of information mentioned that we, the readers, don't know about; however, I really enjoyed how as you read, you piece everything together. For me, it wasn't so slow that I lost interest but it wasn't moving to fast that I was constantly confused. I would recommend reading this for anyone who wants to read a short story in around a week (depending on how often you read). :)"

Audrey (4/5)

Great book

"I read this book in a day, and it was really good. It was an easy read, which I loved, but I also enjoyed the well-built characters. The whole story being wrapped around another story trying to find the truth was amazing."

Rach (4/5)

They had said to me that the deluxe edition was a popular one and so that is why they didn't have it.

"I did return the book to see if they had the deluxe edition of it and they didn't."

A Spellbinding Tale That Seeps Into Your Bones

"A Study in Drowning by Ava Reid is a dark, atmospheric masterpiece that blends gothic mystery with lyrical prose. The world feels immersive and unsettling, and the tension builds in such a haunting way that you can’t stop turning the pages. The characters are complex and flawed, and the themes of obsession, folklore, and the blurred line between truth and fiction make it unforgettable. Every detail feels deliberate, and the writing itself is almost poetic—gorgeous yet chilling."

It was Alright

"It was good, but boring. Slow story and not much conflict until the very end and that felt rushed to me. The MMC was not my favourite character either."

Jessa (3/5)

Pretty good

"I bought this book because it was on sale. Pretty good storyline not my typical read though."

Amcs (3/5)

Brilliant Halloween Read

"Perfect read when you’re sipping on pumpkin spice latte."

A Study in Drowning is a brilliant novel that's part fantasy, part dark academia, part modern gothic, part horror fairytale, and altogether too gripping to put down.
