Good addition to the series in time for Halloween

"As always, the Narwhal and Jelly books are just so cute and fun that I can't help but enjoy them. The artwork is simple yet effective, and the story is intended to keep a young reader interested and not be boring. In this instalment, perfect for Halloween, Narwhal is trying on different costumes and Jelly is trying to get over a fear of all things spooky that comes with costumes. The story moves quickly to its conclusion, and there is a small lesson to be had around learning to be brave for the friends we love. All in all, a great addition to the series. And it can definitely be read as a stand alone. I will say this again, but I have had many parents come up to me and complain about the fact that these books don't have a lot of words which makes them less "value" for money. I would argue always that having a book that your children are interested in reading is a way to get them engaged with books. Sure, it's not a lot of words, but there is so much to the stories that go beyond words. I've often encouraged young readers to not just pick up these stories but then to try and write their own stories about Narwhal and Jelly. The beauty of the artwork is that it is not too hard for a young child to replicate. And of course, there are guides on how to draw the characters which help."

Such a good read for all ages

"We love this series and are so appreciative of Tundra Books/ Penguin for sending us a copy to read and review. V flew through this one and enjoyed every minute of it. She even read out loud and did different voices ahh love it. Her favourite part was when he was coming out in all the different costumes. I just find them funny lol. It’s a great read for all ages. And we would recommend it to everyone."

Jeepers Creepers Jelly

"I bought this around Halloween, as my son seemed to be a little interested in all things related to Halloween. Little did I know, this sparked a huge thing where he is literally All about Halloween. Spooky baby. I didn't look inside when I grabbed it, but it is basically a comic book. Which I have no problem with. It's a little too much words for my son at the moment, but he likes looking at all the pictures with the spooky costumes and monsters. And there's little info bits about deep sea creatures as well."

On it's way to becoming a classic

"Once again Ben Clanton delivers a silly, sweet snapshot of what it means to be a good friend. Narwhal titles are always a hit in my household and this is no different. Narwhal's unique outlook on life always bring a smile. Jelly's tentative steps towards embracing the wonders of the world and being brave for the sake of his friend are inspiring."
