Whimsical, lighthearted romance

"I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is looking for an easy read that will leave you feeling happy. Perfect to read in the fall/early winter. This book has a lovely message and while it does touch on some difficult feelings for the characters, it never feels emotionally taxing to read it."

Finally some decent main characters!

"This book was like a tranquil cup of tea. Just enough intrigues not to get bored, but at the same time cozy and fun. Bonus the main characters are intelligent and well thought for once!"

Delightful, adorable, surprisingly adult!

"This is the second book by the same author, and I found it absolutely delightful. The character development seemed less deep and detailed than her other book, but it was still relatable and I still loved it. There was a short amount of somewhat detailed adult content, which was fun but maybe not appropriate for younger readers."

A sweet and sassy witch’s tale

"Book review: 4/5 ⭐️ Genre: cozy fantasy Themes: witches, power vs responsibility, found family 📖 Read if you like: The Geographer's Map to Romance, Legends and Lattes, Alchemy and a Cup of Tea The sass, the cat, the magic, the wacky crew - there was just so much to enjoy in this story. A heartwarming and whimsical tale of a witch’s search for her lost powers and creating a safe haven for all those other lost souls along the way. Sera Swan was once a mage of ages. Her power equaled that of even the most powerful ruling mage, yet one fateful spell of resurrection to save her beloved aunt caused her to loose most of her power and be kicked out of the magical community all in one swoop. A grumpy and sarcastic Sera now finds herself the reluctant innkeeper of a truly magical home with her aunt Jasmine. For this enchanted inn can only be found by those who need it. It is a place of madness and community. With a semi-evil cat, a knight in full armour, a young cousin shipped off from Iceland developing his own powers and a host of other quirky characters, she certainly has her hands full. When the magical historian Luke Larsen finds his way to the inn one day, he may just bring with him the secrets to unlock Sera’s powers. While he has no desires to engage with the shenanigans that take place in the inn, he seems undeniably drawn to its innkeeper and her kindness, despite her smart mouth. His cold exterior is no match for this world of wonderment and a true sense of family within its walls. I liked the half-Indian, half-Icelandic main character and Posy was another unconventional representation that was well done. All the characters were complicated people with well developed histories and personalities. There were also a lot of different relationships and an overarching theme of gentleness and love throughout making this just a joyful read. It had a strong plot with plenty of magic to balance things out. The theme of power versus responsibility was one explored from different levels and the sacrifices of magic made for a gut wrenching ending. Mixed feelings on this part, but it felt genuine and fitting for the storyline. It is a love story, it is a journey of self-discovery and redemption, it is a story of found family and home. There is also some wonderful magic and a mad-cap quest to round things off. The corruption of the Guild and magic was a good backdrop, but the characters really stole the show. It was full of emotions and utterly wholesome. It was all things cozy with some giggling and just the right amount of quirkiness, though there were also some tears. Overall these cozy reads have been hitting the spot recently."
