She’s an honors student with ambitious graduate school plans and he’s a jock with only hockey on his mind, but once their worlds collide, their connection is hot enough to melt an ice rink.
An ultimatum from Summer Preston’s thesis advisor thrusts her into an unexpected collision with the hockey team’s captain, Aiden Crawford. She’s caught between conflicting desires of fulfilling her lifelong dream of becoming a sport psychologist and staying as far away as possible from the god-awful sport. And once she meets Aiden—well, let’s just say he confirms all her worst assumptions about hockey players.
Being the captain of the college hockey team has its perks, except when a reckless mistake by Aiden’s team threatens to jeopardize their entire season. As punishment, Aiden’s coach nominates him as the subject of a student research project. Participating is the last thing he wants to do, especially since the girl leading the project looks like she could wield his skates as a weapon.
Summer can’t stand Aiden’s blasé approach to life, and Aiden doesn’t understand why she’s twenty years old with a twenty-five-year plan. But their bickering soon turns to bantering—and once they let their guards down, there’s nothing to check their feelings.

It's a good read, but expected more
"i had a fun time reading this book—it was a solid, decent read. It didn’t become a new favourite, but it wasn’t bad either. it was exactly what I needed after my last read: something lighter, refreshing, and a little different. that said, I’ll admit it did feel LONG—the length dragged at times, and the writing itself was a bit dull in some spots, which made some moments feel underwhelming. While I enjoyed reading it, I found it hard to become fully invested in the story. Summer came across less as a grump and more as a mean person. Her harsh words towards Aiden, who was nothing but kind and caring, were heartbreaking. Aiden, on the other hand, was a sweetheart but his caveman-like personality was frustrating at times. The banter between Summer and Aiden was entertaining, but I struggled to root for them as a couple. While there were some cute and funny moments, their constant hooking up overshadowed the emotional connection, making it hard to feel invested in their relationship. There were definitely moments in this book that had me laughing out loud."

The title Fourth Wing is intriguing and symbolic, hinting at hierarchy, competition, and the freedom of flight.
"Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros is an exhilarating blend of fantasy, romance, and action. With a fierce heroine, a deadly war college, and a thrilling dragon-riding competition, the story is gripping from start to finish. The world-building is rich, the stakes are high, and the romance adds an extra layer of intensity. Packed with twists and emotional depth, Fourth Wing is a must-read for fantasy lovers."
