Very slow beginning

"I Enjoyed all the previous books but I find this one a bit slow. I hope it gets better quickly"

Ernest is back!

"Ernest Cunningham was a writer who wrote guides on how to write “Fair Play” murder mysteries. After solving several murders, and writing novels to tell the tale of each, he is trying to secure financing for his Private Detective agency. He’s been declined for a loan at several banks across the country, and his last chance is taking a meeting at Huxley bank. Once he arrives, he realizes the Bank Owner wants something in return for financing his loan — he needs him to find his missing brother. After a series of unfortunate events, Ernest finds himself being held hostage at the same bank, and he and all the other hostages are hiding motives and thefts of their own. Ah, I love this series and I hope it continues for a long time. Ernest is such a loveable character and I especially love listening to the audiobooks of the series. The narrator is fantastic and gives a lot of personality and life to Ernest’s character. Ernest is quick to get involved, makes impulsive and dangerous decisions, and loves to show his readers exactly how he solved each case (it does get a bit meta, as a book where the main character is writing the book can be) but it works well for this series and Ern is so loveable. He also grows a lot in this instalment. Thank you to Net Galley and HarperAudio for an ALC of Everyone in this Bank is a Thief in exchange for an honest review!"

Delightful read

"Everyone in This Bank is a Thief is another delightful book in the Ernest Cunningham series. This round we have a locked door (bank) with 10 heists, and 10 suspects . What more could anyone want. Benjamin Stevenson writes a clever plot that contains a relentless mix of secrets, lies accompanied by twists and turns that has your jaw dropping and head spinning. I dont want to give anything away for those armchair detectives that try and solve the mystery as the book progresses ( I am never right). It's a wild ride and Benjamin Stevenson will have you laughing, scratching your head as your rush to the ending. Can't wait for Book 5."

“As fresh and zingy as a salted lime. It’s Knives Out meets Richard Osman. Or Dexter by way of Agatha Christie. Or Schitt’s Creek with a body count. It’s also the most luxuriantly enjoyable novel I’ve read in years. And years. I began toting my copy around town so that strangers would ask me about it—who could resist that title? I only wish there were more members of the Cunningham clan, so that this raucous, matchlessly entertaining mystery could go on longer. Benjamin Stevenson, I’ve got a lot to learn from you.” - A. J. Finn on Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone
"Ingenious...As usual, Stevenson hits the sweet spot between self-awareness and sincerity, never allowing the regular fourth-wall breaks to curdle into snark, and the resolution is hugely gratifying. Stevenson’s hot streak shows no signs of cooling." - Publishers Weekly (starred review) on Everyone This Christmas Has a Secret
“Fun and diverting, with a plethora of red herrings.” - New York Times Book Review on Everyone on This Train Is a Suspect
“Witty…Readers should find the ride on the Ghan well worth the price of the ticket.” - Wall Street Journal on Everyone on This Train Is a Suspect
“A witty twist on classic whodunits… Stevenson not only 'plays fair,' he plays the mystery game very, very well.” - Washington Post on Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone
