A New York Times bestseller!
Gilmore Girls meets Jenny Han in this “delightfully autumnal small-town romance” (Kirkus Reviews, starred review) about a city girl stuck in a quaint small town who must confront her future and her old flame while the town prepares for an annual fall festival.
Ellis has a plan: spend her senior fall prepping her application for Columbia, get into their journalism program, and set the foundation for a respectable career. So when her parents announce that not only are they separating, but Ellis has to move with her mom from New York City to Bramble Falls, Connecticut, to live with her aunt and cousin, it couldn’t come at a worse time.
From past summers spent in Connecticut, Ellis knows Bramble Falls is idyllic and charming. But it also seems to be full of distractions. There’s local barista Cooper Barnett, Ellis’s one-time best friend and first kiss who now wants nothing to do with her. And then there’s the Falling Leaves Festival, a local autumnal celebration run by Ellis’s aunt where people from all over come to see Bramble Falls’s beautiful foliage. The house is stuffed with decorations, and every conversation seems to center around the festival.
Dragged to every oh-so-charming event from apple picking to pumpkin carving, Ellis can’t stop bumping into Cooper…or falling for the quaint town and its quirky residents. As her return to Manhattan gets repeatedly delayed, Ellis finds herself caught between two very different places—and the futures they represent.

An AMAZING book
"This book was SOOOOO good. The plot is amazing and there's some romance but no spice. I suggest this for anyone who wants to get into romance, or likes romance but not spice scenes"

I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS YA BOOK
"I don't usually read YA books and the ones I have never had me obsessing over them like I did with this one. I'm so in love with EVERYTHING in this book and have felt so many emotions which is a big thing. I've swooned, giggled, laughed, cried a bit. I'm ready to re-read this book every fall and I'm excitedly looking forward to more books in this series. btw I LOVE YOU COOPER!!!"

Fluffy, Hopeful, and Perfect for September
"Falling Like Leaves is definitely my fall book of the year! I’m such a sucker for small-town romance, and this one gave me everything I love—fluffy, cozy, and as comforting as being wrapped in a blanket of autumn leaves, sipping a PSL with apple-scented candles burning in the background. What I adored most was the innocence of Ellis and Cooper’s story. They’re just eighteen, facing the kinds of real, messy issues that come with that age, yet their relationship still feels tender and hopeful. The maturity and sense of responsibility among the cast (well… everyone except Ellis’s dad) was refreshing and made the whole ensemble easy to love. Reading this in September was the perfect cozy vibe I was craving. It left me feeling content, like the older sibling cheering Ellis and Cooper on, rooting for their love story and excited to see how it all unfolds."

The Perfect Cozy Read
"This was the sweet, atmospheric, calming, cozy, autumnal read that I wanted and hoped for when I picked it up. Actually, I think it even shot beyond my expectations. Listen. I was hesitant when I picked this book up. I haven't been reading a lot of YA recently so I didn't know if picking this book up would be the right decision. It was. Although there were some dramatic moments that could be associated with youth and/or elevated emotions (*cough* and hormones) this story could have easily been tweaked and been about two adults really. I'm not saying that's what should have been done. I'm just saying this story really just read as if it could be a universal experience for a variety of age ranges. If you like small towns, if you like Autumn, if you like cozy. . . pick this book up. I loved the writing and I loved the details. Whether it be the details of the food or drinks or even the settings and different elements involved in all of the different Autumn events. I don't want to spoil anything but I will say that I loved, in relation to a particular storyline, that everything wasn't wrapped up in a neat little package. You'll know when you know if you read this book. Life is messy and I think that storyline was a perfect representation of that reality. This is definitely a read that resembles a cup of warm cocoa by the fire in the midst of a chilly Autumn day with crunch leaves on the ground. If you crave that coziness and warmth, check this one out."

"Such an adorable and cozy story. I truly couldn’t put it down. I feel like the story flowed so well and compared to other books with similar tropes and themes it didn’t feel rushed at all."
