“If you're considering buying Keeping Finance Personal, let me warn you: This is not a book. This is a mirror. "Feeling seen" doesn't even cover it—I felt named, identified for things I (as a financial educator!) didn't even realize I struggled with, much less that these parts of my identity affected my money brain so deeply. With every chapter, Ellyce does this magical accordion-y thing: She lays out the financial landscape of incredibly nuanced topics you don't see in other money books, like neurodivergence or gender identity. But then, she gathers you in and makes you feel enclosed in a safe space of real solutions and, above all, true humanity and compassion. Honestly, I want to crawl inside of this book and live there.”—Berna Anat, bestselling author of Money Out Loud

Finance Book From Social Lens - AMAZING! 💕

"This book just shot up to one of my top finance book recs. Ellyce really gets into finance from a social lens speaking about gender gaps, racism, and privilege in the finance world. Plus, she’s a YYC neurodivergent queer Swiftie, what more could you want?! 💕"

Fills an Important Gap - Highly Recommended

"This book is vital for those individuals who feel as if they have fallen between the cracks in the mainstream financial industry. It discusses the ways in which your identity and other factors can impact your financial well-being and provides very practical tools to help you improve your approach to personal finance. It is not an ""investment tips"" type of book but there are enough of those out there already. Rather, this book discusses some of the underlying reasons that stop people from even getting to the point of thinking about their financial health - and then it helps you to move forward. Ellyce has done an amazing job here. Highly needed and recommended."

Personal finance advice that really is for you

"I've never read a personal finance book that expected me to be my own person in the way Keeping Finance Personal does. _x000D_ The author acknowledges that there may be reasons outside ""it's your fault"" for why you may be where you are financially. She helps you see it too, to give yourself a little bit of grace, and ideas to start moving in a positive direction from wherever you're at - all this from an extremely knowledgeable and practical perspective. _x000D_ If you're feeling stuck financially, like you ""should have known better,"" aren't sure where to begin, or want to learn more about how your experience as a person relates to how you interact with your money, I highly recommend this book. You'll get practical advice and action steps along with self-awareness and maybe just a bit of self-empathy."

A MUST read for anyone with money anxiety!

"This book was like a warm hug, a supportive pep talk, a therapy session, and a how-to guide all in one. I absolutely loved the way way Ellyce approached potentially stressful topics gently, sharing her personal journey with money and her identity in a way that leaves room for us readers to reflect on our own money story in a judgement-free space. The focus on maintaining your mental health was consistent throughout all the chapters, and was such a refreshing reminder while discussing these challenging concepts - very rare for finance books to have that lens!_x000D_ Managing my money has always brought me anxiety and led to avoidant behaviours. Working through this book not only helped me pinpoint why I feel this way, but also the suggested steps to take have gotten me to a place that I feel more in control and confident, and willing to learn more! I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants to learn more about themselves and their relationship to money."

A must read!

"This book is life-changing!! To me, it was more than just a book about teaching me to control my personal finances, it also helped me learn ways to heal past trauma, find my identity and better control my own mental health. Ellyce helps guide you through all these stages in a non-judgmental, shame free and encouraging way while helping you understand your finances. Everyone needs to read and have this book in their life."

HIGHLY Recommend this book for FINANCIAL LITERACY

"This book is amazing!! It is so accessible to all readers and provides varying levels of accommodations for each stage a person may be at in their journey toward financial literacy. While I consider myself someone with a deeper background in personal finance, much of it comes from the old-fashioned trope written by old white men. This book smashes through my old beliefs and helps with a more shame-free and trauma-informed approach to counterbalance the stuff I learned previously. I seriously recommend this book for anyone starting their financial literacy journey but especially those that are neurodivergent, queer, or have any other diverse identity."
