Good quality, but could use some editing!

"Bought this for my fiance. It had nice pictures and was inspiring to him. I liked that it included dishes with unusual ingredients and lots of authentic Canadian ways of cooking and foods. It was also pretty easy to follow without overwhelming the reader with self-marketing (vs. other celebrity cookbooks where they talk at length about themselves). I feel excited about the dishes, but didn't like the picture of his hairy butt crack, which was unappetizing for a cook book. I also didn't like his take on Asian dishes - it was sacrilege and made me realize that lots of content are sold to western majority consumers who've never travelled outside of the country. I would suggest to have a more diverse buyer or group of buyers or editors for books Indigo carries - that would elevate the cosmopolitan stature of the store and vanquish feelings that it's a racist bookstore here to only serve insular, western, Canadians."

Simply Incredible!

"As a fan of Matty Matheson, I really enjoyed the storytelling as he chronicles his youth and growing up to become a legendary chef. A absolute treasure trove of both Canadiana and delicious recipes."

Perfect cook book for hubby!!

"Fantastic book! Matty has a great story and the way he takes you through it while sharing recipes is really great! I bought this book for my husband, he loved to watch Matty’s cooking show on tv. Definitely got me some points and now he’s inspired to do some more cooking! Let me just move out of the way…. Win-win!"
