Impactful, but not for me

"I had never heard of this book until I played The Tiny bookshop lol (how silly) and from that a friend told me it was a good read. It was okay for me, I found it interesting but something hey rodent do it for me. I realize this is a memoir and I can’t really rate someone’s life and experiences. I like we got to glimpse into Nagata’s life and see how she was feeling as an almost thirty year old who didn’t know who she was or what she wanted and join her in that journey. I enjoyed the art, it was simple but effective. I’d still recommend this to people who I think would benefit from it."

My favourite graphic novel

"Autobiographical graphic novels have quickly become my favourite sub genre thanks to this one in particular. I first read this one online about two years ago and knew it was something that needed to be on my shelves one day. Getting a physical copy has been a long time coming (even longer due to a delay in shipment) but it’s one of those books that you need to honour the artist/author by purchasing. I already have several of Nagata Kabi’s other novels, but not only is this one my favourite of her works, but I could easily say this is my favourite graphic novel - if not favourite novel period - of all time."

Honest Representation of the Queer Experiences

"This book was more serious then I expected but I'm glad that there are graphic novels that hit these harder subjects to help get the message out to more LGBT people, even if they aren't big readers. I liked that the author didn't sugarcoat her struggles, that many other LGBT people share but are scared to talk about even amongst our own community. I liked how the author explained how she personally felt then gave a more psychological view to help further explain the author's experience. I can't wait to read more."

From sexuality, to mental health, to the taboo subject of sex to some individuals and even cultures, this book is the amalgamation of laying bare, raw emotions few of us can admit to."

"The author is really skilled at explaining the psychological, her use of simple metaphors and illustrations really captured the nature of depression, anxiety, and eating disorders. The simplicity of the art is totally suited to the story she tells, and the way she tells it; why would you clog up or obscure a diagram? At the same time the art is very cute and fun to look at."
