Sweet, funny, and quietly poignant, Debbie Tung’s comics reveal the ups and downs of coming of age as an introvert.
This illustrated gift book of short comics illuminates author Debbie Tung's experience as an introvert in an extrovert’s world. Presented in a loose narrative style that can be read front to back or dipped into at one’s leisure, the book spans three years of Debbie's life, from the end of college to the present day. In these early years of adulthood, Debbie slowly but finally discovers there is a name for her lifelong need to be alone: she’s an introvert.
The first half of the book traces Debbie’s final year in college: socializing with peers, dating, falling in love (with an extrovert!), moving in, getting married, meeting new people, and simply trying to fit in. The second half looks at her life after graduation: finding a job, learning to live with her new husband, trying to understand social obligations when it comes to the in-laws, and navigating office life. Ultimately, Quiet Girl sends a positive, pro-introvert message: our heroine learns to embrace her introversion and finds ways to thrive in the world while fulfilling her need for quiet.

As expected of Debbie Tung
"Read Debbie’s “Everything’s Okay” before purchasing this. And the same as my first book of hers, I loved it. It made me cry and all sorts of emotions. Her illustrations are so nice and simple. It’s not overly put with unnecessary details. Highly recommend it to graphic novel enthusiasts out there. ❤️"

Sweet and informative
"A sweet and unique way of showing what life is like for an introvert. A little mature for my daughter, but we enjoyed it."
— Lissy G. (5/5)
Everyone should read this!
"This book is such a quick and fun read, but has such a powerful impact! As an introvert, I found myself crying several times through reading - because on these pages were emotions and thoughts I've never been able to express, but here they were normal and real! It's a great book for introverts to feel loved, and for extroverts to understand us a little better!"
— Jennifer (5/5)
There's nothing wrong with being an introvert
"I love the illustrations and the very simple notions of life it captures. There were a couple panels where I squealed ""that’s me!!!"" and there's no doubt you'll find yourself in the little vignettes that Debbie Tung presents in this cutely quiet comic collection on anxiety and individuality"
— Chihoe (4/5)
This book is exactly -EXACTLY- how I would do an illustrated book if I was even half this creative!
"Small sequences of panels manage to capture defining moments, while the story stays fluid and constant. I loved the simplicity and effectiveness of the art style, and genuinely think that the minimalist conversation within is entirely engaging and powerful, as well as being true to Introversion as a whole. I also like that this book approves of my career choice of becoming a solitary burrito."

Cute & Funny Graphic Novel
"My sister bought me this as a gift and I read it in about two days. The illustrations were great and at points I was laughing out loud because a lot of the situations are so relatable, being a fellow introvert. I would say that this book isn't representative of all introverts because there are different types of introverts and that it focuses a little more on social anxiety. Even though I myself don't suffer from social anxiety, I see how introversion and social anxiety sometimes go hand-in-hand and how social anxiety can make interacting with people especially hard for introverts."

Nice read
"As a book, I was expecting a bit more but I still enjoyed it overall. #plumreview"

Introvert myself
"I really enjoyed this book, I enjoyed the concept and the art. It was super relateable and could definitely see myself in the character. That being said though, I wish there hadn't been so much about introverts wanting to always be alone. I'm an introvert myself and also suffer from social anxiety, and know how draining and exhausting it can be to be around large groups of people, and I do find myself not wanting to go to a lot of social gatherings. But I wish there was more about how we can have fun at parties or big get togethers, and while at first it may be scary, there does come a point where we get to enjoy ourselves and become comfortable. As a whole this book was really great and fun, just wish there was more representation other than introverts always wanting to be alone."
