EVERY STORY HAS TWO SIDES. ONE OF HERS KILLS.
Ribby is quiet. Polite. Invisible.
By day, she works in a library shelving books, and after work she volunteers at the children's ward, where the sick and dying adore her gentle presence. By night, she goes home to an abusive mother, and the echoing silence of a life unlived.
Until she creates an imaginary friend.
A friend who is unafraid. Who doesn't flinch or follow rules. A friend, who answers cruelty with vengeance. And bodies start turning up.
When a reclusive billionaire invites her to run his private library, it seems like a dream - until the voices grow louder. Her shadow self-stirs. And as the past unravels, so does her grip on what's real.
Darkly hypnotic. Laced with dark humour and menace, this is the story of a woman pushed past her limits...and the imagined best friend who might not be imaginary anymore.
