Bettsam was trained to fight in the shadows. But no training could prepare him for betrayal.
A year after the mysterious Shadow Elves attempt to devastate his village, Bettsam and his best friend Coleton are sent on a mission to destroy a deadly Lich Lord. With Liona, the strong-willed daughter of the village elder, they expect a simple hunt-until everything goes wrong.
What they find is not an enemy, but an ally-Almas Vaten, a boy cursed by dark magic. The truth shakes them to their core: they've been betrayed. The new king has set them up, igniting a war that threatens their world.
As armies gather and ancient grudges resurface, Bettsam must wield Memory, a mystical scythe of untold power, and choose who to trust in a game of shifting alliances. But the shadows hide more than just enemies-they hide secrets that could change everything.
Loyalty will be tested, friendships shattered, and an empire brought to its knees. Can Bettsam and his friends survive the coming storm?
