Disappointing!
"I bought this book on recommendation from the Ottawa Citizen. What a disappointment. I found it poorly written and not terribly incite full. The musing of an older person, that quite frankly, I am surprised has made it to print. The price was ridiculous for the volume of the book and lack of depth from the writing."

"I recently read The Swedish Art of Aging Exuberantly by Margareta Magnusson. A quick read with snippets of humour on the process of aging that none of us will escape. Margareta writes with clarity and wisdom on many topics regarding aging. One of the key points I took from her book is the importance of going through all your ""crap"" (material possessions) before you die so the burden will not be left to your loved ones. Margareta stresses the importance of keeping up with technology especially now since experiencing a pandemic where physical social interaction was limited. Another tidbit I gleaned from reading her book was the importance of surrounding yourself with younger people and engaging in discussions regarding their interests and future goals. She touches on the topic of having something to take care of other than yourself. She discusses the pros and cons of having a pet and says that ""having even a small thing to look forward to, something other than yourself to care for, is important whatever age you are. "" Overall, Margareta presents that it's not death we should be worrying about, it's how long we are going to live. It's how we choose to face this process that will determine our overall acceptance of getting old!!!"

Margareta Magnusson (1934–2026) is the author of The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning and The Swedish Art of Aging Exuberantly. She was born in Sweden and lived all over the world. Margareta graduated from Beckman’s College of Design and her art has been exhibited in galleries from Hong Kong to Singapore. She had five children and seven grandchildren and did not leave a mountain of stuff for them to clean up when she died.
