*This Indigo exclusive edition comes with a mountain spine design that lines up with the rest of the series and includes tip-in art*
Sebastian Rousseau is a grumpy, hot-as-hell fire pilot who is too damn good with his hands.
It's the perfect combination. But unfortunately for her, he's also her ex-boyfriend's dad.
A chance meeting brought them together, and a missed connection has kept them apart.
One year later, a stroke of fate has them living under the same roof - which makes everything between them downright messy. Because even after all this time, he's still the man Gwen thinks about when she falls asleep. The one she can't get over no matter how hard she tries.
Bash is working on mending a fragile relationship with his son, and they both know acting on these urges would be the ultimate betrayal.
But Gwen sees the heat in his eyes. That look of need that never fails to send a shiver down her spine.
The mutual longing is borderline unbearable, and the simmering heat between them is downright palpable.
They both know there are rules when it comes to situations like this.
But then again. . .following the rules has never felt so futile.

Reviews
4. 75/5
"Read this if you like: - Dual POV - Age gap (consensual adults) - Strong FMC - Open door spice So easy to binge this book. I was a bit worried about the 'ex-girlfriend of my son' aspect, but it played out better than I expected. I liked it better than Wild Side, especially since Gwen called Bash out on his BS at every turn. This one felt softer around the edges in the best way and still made my skin tingle."

Gruff aerial firefighter = must read
"Oh bash. The man that you are. Elsie Silver has done it again. I've read 95% of her books and every book in this wild series, and I'm LIVING for it. This book was so well done with the pent up tension and slow burn. It provided so much more inside into crazy Clyde and even his past love. It made me laugh, made me cry, but most importantly, it made me love love. Excellent. Excellent read."

Wild Card by Elsie Silver
"Another Fantastic Read by Silver!! I’ve read all Rose Hill Series and thoroughly enjoyed all 4 books. Our couples relationship Sebastian and Gwen didn’t feel taboo or wrong, simply a different kind of forbidden and absolutely meant to be. Elsie is amazing at writing flawed characters who go through painful experiences. Yet it never feels too painful or heavy but visceral and real and relatable. Recommend reading Chestnut Springs Series first then Rose Hill Series following. Elsie Silver is one of my favourite authors. Can’t wait to see what Series comes next. 🥰"

Wild Side!
"Love this book. I am thinking anything Elsie Silver writes will be good and this did not disappoint. A little miscommunication thrown into the age gap - ex boyfriends dad trope and I couldn't get enough. I really liked Gwen's character and found I could relate to her a lot. Bash was prickly but adored Gwen and her yoga ways. I did find the story line with Clyde a little too much, but it was fine, I could get over it. Tripp was also a problem for me with him randomly showing up, but I understood why. All in all, I liked this one and would totally recommend Elsie and this series."

A Heartfelt Second-Chance Romance
"Elsie Silver delivers an unforgettable story in Wild Card, blending vulnerability with heart-racing tension. The chemistry between the characters feels electric, yet what makes the book stand out is the way it captures healing, second chances, and emotional growth. Every chapter builds anticipation, pulling the reader deeper into the small-town setting while balancing both romance and heartfelt authenticity. It’s the kind of love story that lingers long after the last page."

Really Liked This Book
"This was a really good book, I wasn't sure about the trope when I went into this but I had read all the others in this series so I felt I had to finish it, and I have to say I am very glad I did! The trope is so well done, Elsie truly did an amazing job at not just writing this book but wrapping up the Rose hill gang! Highly recommend!"

Elsie Silver 🤠👑
"I’m never disappointed with Elsie Silver for a small town / cowboy romance. With beautiful spice might I add. One of the best books in this series!! Right after Wild Side. You can totally read this as a standalone, but I would read all her books first lol."

Elsie Silver is a Canadian author of sassy, sexy, small town romance who loves a good book boyfriend and the strong heroines who bring them to their knees. She lives just outside of Vancouver, British Columbia with her husband, son, and three dogs and has been voraciously reading romance books since before she was probably supposed to.
She loves cooking and trying new foods, traveling, and spending time with her boys-especially outdoors. Elsie has also become a big fan of her quiet five am mornings, which is when most of her writing happens. It's during this time that she can sip a cup of hot coffee and dream up a fictional world full of romantic stories to share with her readers.
