"[Harari] has teed up a crucial global conversation about how to take on the problems of the twenty-first century." —Bill Gates, New York Times Book Review

“Truly mind-expanding . . . Ultra-topical . . . Harari’s big selling point [is] the ambition and breadth of his work, smashing together unexpected ideas into dazzling observations.” —The Guardian

It remains to be seen if one more lesson will guarantee the opportunity for a 22nd. Century

"I share the same birth-month and -day as Mr. Harari. . . and, incidentally, the very excellent actor Edward James Olmos. But while I could never have aspired to have stolen a movie of the calibre of '2 Guns' from Denzel and Markie, I have, since reading the first 20 or so pages of 'Sapiens' in my local Coles - then actually buying and finishing it, been continuously pleased at the quality of intuition and intellect I like to believe I share with Mr. Harari's presentations. The continuity and evolution of the narrative, in all his books I've read so far, 'works' for my intellectual process (most often pigeon-holed as ""stream-of-conciousness"", probably from my fondness for M. Python et al. ), and though - as should be the case when reviewing intellectual material sometimes qualified with subjective, if logical, opinions - I may not agree with everything presented in the book, but I can easily relate to the proffered concepts. It is a waste of time to go into the details of such literature, as the intellectual take-away - or even the entertainment value - is significantly subjective. . . if you like a good chat about the facets of 'God, the Universe, and Everything', and like to have conversations about why the World is the way it is, and the consequences for the possible futures of humankind, you could do worse than get this book as at least one good frame of reference."
