Reviews

Loved the story.

"Loved the book! The soft, matte cover is awesome. There are more black and white photos than coloured ones though, and some of the coloured ones come too early and spoil the upcoming events. I don’t recommend getting this unless you’re a fan."

Not worth it

"So I borrowed this from the library a few weeks ago, and I've decided to review this particular edition, NOT the story itself (which is 5/5 stars from me). Every chapter starts with a black and white picture, each by a different artist (I believe). While they are very pleasant to look at, I preferred the handful of coloured pictures that were included in the book. However, there are very few of them (maybe around 5?) and the location of the coloured pictures don't make any sense. Like, I remember there being a beautiful illustration of Daenerys sandwiched between a Jon chapter and a Catelyn chapter. Oh, and that brings me to another thing, which is some of the illustrations are pretty spoilery (if you've never watched the show or read the book before) so beware. The material of the book seems to be of good quality, but this book is very heavy so it was difficult to read at times. Overall, it's a nice book, but in my opinion it's not worth paying the hefty price for it unless you're a really hardcore fan of GoT."

A Game of Thrones

"I really like this illustrated edition! It's hardcover which is nice for me, as I personally find a hardcover book easier to read. The pictures are so well done, both in black and white and colour. My only complaint is I think there could have been more pictures."

Shantel (4/5)

Decided not to buy this edition

"I give the story itself five stars, and I already own a regular paperback copy of it. I like collecting nice editions of my favourite books, but when I looked at this in the store I just thought it was underwhelming. The artwork is very good, but it is all in black and white, and just did not blow me away. I am just judging it in comparison to other full colour, really amazing editions of other books that I have bought. I just thought it wasn't special enough to be worth the money, but others might love it, so I just recommend taking a look at in in store before deciding to purchase it."

Julia (3/5)

I loved it!

"Great book from a great series."

Warren (5/5)

Amazing

"I bought this thinking ""I'll just read the first book and watch the tv show"" since it was so long, but as I started reading I knew that I had to read the rest of the series. It is so well-written and each of the characters have such a distinct voice. I was so engrossed in the lives of these characters and had to be forced to put this book down. Moving on to the second book!"

Jasmeen (4/5)

Classic

"Obviously these books are amazing!"

Ally (5/5)

I loved this

"I accidentally gave this four stars, but it's deserving of five stars. The illustrations also added so much to the story and were beautifully done"

"this book has everyting in it. you are constantly on edge because there is always something terrible happening but you can't put it down. I absolutly love it. I would give it 10 stars if I could."

Pearl (5/5)

Beautiful

"The story is, of course, amazing and so fantastically written, but the pictures just add that much more. They're so well done! Perfect addition to the collection for any GoT fan."
