Gets better with every book in the series

"I accidently submitted my review for this book under Disturbing The Dead, so check there for that review. Instead, I'll review the 3rd book in the series here ^▪︎^' Mummies, curses, and murder. A classic combo that Kelley Armstrong has absolutely done right. With her brand of plot twists that reliably keep me turning pages for most of the night, I can confidently say that this book is for you if you loved the first two. The story of our Edinburgh mystery gang continues, and this one is my favourite yet. It had me hopping around in excitement, reaching for tissues, and re-examining my life, as I joined Mallory in trying to solve the murder that would lead her towards what she really wants for herself, and the man who will support her the whole way. This is definitely a series worth giving a try, if you haven't already."

Intriguing and fun as per usual with Kelley Armstrong

"Kelley Armstrong does it again with another intriguing, well written story. It follows a police detective who travels back in time 150 years. It's fun to read about how Mallory tries to blend in, but often makes mistakes without even realizing it. It shows how something that can seem so natural to us is actually a product of our time and culture. Mallory also gets to navigate the differences in policing and detective work as she's trying to unravel the mystery of her attack/time travel as well as what is occurring in the time she's traveled to. Kelley is always an instant buy anyway, but this book just reiterates why."

Mich (5/5)

Fun and Surprising

"Mallory a homicide detective from 2019 ends up being strangled in Edinburgh and wakes up in 1869 in the body of a young housemaid named Catriona. She has to adapt to a completely different time period while trying to convince her employers that her strange behavior and mannerisms are a result of memory loss. Mallory also decides to use her skills as a homicide detective to help her undertaker employer solve crimes. This was such a fun read that I finished in one sitting as I had to know what would happen next."
