"As welcoming as a hot bath with a few lavender scented candles thrown in for ambience. A wonderful slow-burn love story." - Oprah Daily
“This new edition of a previously self-published novel, which features Zapata’s trademark humor and slow-burn pacing is sure to be popular.” - Library Journal
“Zapata (Wait For It) lights a long fuse and lets it burn slowly in this tasty…small-town romance. There’s strong chemistry between Ora and Tobias, and they make a sweet family with Amos. Zapata should win some new fans with this.” - Publishers Weekly
"When I need a guaranteed five-star, slow burn romance, I pick up Mariana Zapata every time."  - #1 New York Times Bestselling Author Tessa Bailey
“An absolute binge—compelling, subtle, sweet and unforgettable—Zapata brings the heady, dizzy rush of the slow fall into love to the pages of The Wall of Winnipeg and MeWinnipeg is so much more than a slow burn, a sports story, or a grumpy/sunshine delight—it’s all of those things rolled into an unputdownable feast of romance.”  - Sierra Simone, USA Today bestselling author of Priest and Misadventures of a Curvy Girl
“The first Mariana Zapata book I read was The Wall of Winnipeg and Me, and it made me a Mariana Zapata stan for life. Everything Mariana writes is pure gold, and I credit her for my undying love of some of my favorite tropes: slow-burn, enemies to lovers, and grumpy/sunshine. I am in constant awe of her ability to create amazing characters and to make me love, hate, pine, laugh and cry with my whole heart. Mariana is one of my most formative writers, and I’m thrilled that more readers will get to experience her amazing stories. Mariana is an absolute rockstar and a true gift to romance readers everywhere!” - Ali Hazelwood, New York Times bestselling author of The Love Hypothesis and Love on the Brain

Great book

"Another banger courtesy of Mariana Zapata. Does not disappoint"

Deep, meaningful connections

"I’ve never been a big fan of Slow-Burn Romance. I guess, I always thought that slow burn meant that the story got too long, dragged too much with too many misunderstandings & miscommunication between the main characters. Boy, was I wrong! I never thought that slow burn could be meaningful or so much fun — not until I finally read my first Mariana Zapata book. I didn’t start MZ’s books chronologically but chose one on a whim. I saw ARLH’s 2024 re-issue cover — it’s so cute, and of course, seeing as I have a huge soft spot for grumpy characters, I had to try it. I loved both the main characters more than I’d expected I would. I had my doubts about Aurora at first but she quickly won me over. There was something charming about her that drew you in. I almost felt sorry for Rhodes who tried so hard to not like her but he didn’t have a prayer. Now Rhodes — Mr. Super Grumpy. I love how the author portrayed him & I was so curious about him. I wanted to know everything about him. There was so much to both Aurora & Rhodes — both with complicated pasts. I loved how they both got close, how that came about. I love the side characters as much as I did the main characters. I enjoyed MZ’s writing and it’s got me hooked to slow burn now. I love the build-up that leads to being rewarded with deep, meaningful connections. That feeling when you go through that long road to the reward? Awesome."

Gotta love that slow burn

"Really cutesy romance with some cozy feels with nature and family. Loved the slow burn feeling while the main character finds herself and takes her time to fall in love. Would recommend to anyone who wants a sweet romance."

Good Book

"This book really stood out to me. The plot was well thought out, and the characters were really relatable!"

Addie S. (4/5)

Slow burn but you have to read it!!

"I love this book. It’s a slow burn in typical Mariana Zapata fashion but you don’t even feel it because the chemistry between both characters get you from the start and you are cheering them on waiting for that first move to happen. There is also a twist with the MFC that makes her story more prominent but it all comes together and is so fantastic. If you’re a fan of “Wall of Winnipeg” you’ll love this one too - maybe even more!"

Carm (5/5)

Fantastic read!

"This was an easy and lovely read featuring lots of light-hearted banter along with crushing familial angst - recommend for those who desire a strong sunshine heroine searching for her purpose while avoiding past trauma, and her broody, grumpy (secretly sweet) counterpart of a struggling single dad. Mariana Zapata perfectly captures the conceptual struggle of passion in conflict with that of self-acknowledgment, and I can’t wait to see what she writes next!"
