Ralph Villman, co-owner and operator of Golden Pond Retirement Residence, shares his insights with anyone interested in how we are housing today the aging Canadian population. With 25 plus years spent in redesigning, upgrading and improving living arrangements suitable for those with physical impairments, Ralph extends his interests to bridge the "what''s needed" with the financial arena as it pertains specifically to seniors. Moving from Germany as a young entrepreneur, Ralph made use of his background in engineering to upgrade outdated buildings, turning them into creative and beautiful living spaces once again. He tried his hand as a realtor on the east coast, a landlord, after doing most renovations himself, and finally discovered his true calling, looking after seniors by running a retirement home for seniors in Ontario together with his wife Laurie. His passion is obvious; so is his critical view of how we do things. But his critique follows workable proposals and models of future housing options for older folks.
