It took a bit of reading to come to the place in the book where the title became apparent. EXCELLent

"Riveting! So very applicable for what is occurring today in our world. I listened to the book over the summer and decided that I wanted a deeper appreciation of the work and am now reading it as a book study. Children out to be read this from kindergarten to grade 12!"

Happy to have given this a second shot

"A must read for anyone looking to broaden their horizons"

Marathon, not a sprint

"Reading this book is a marathon. But it's a marathon everyone should run at least once in their lives. Regardless where you stand politically, there is something to be gained from this book, if for nothing else but to enjoy the quality of Rand's incredible writing."

Great Gift

"Got this as a gift for someone for their book collection this Christmas and they really loved the book and the appearance!"

Interesting read

"Rand has many good points that any intelligent person would agree with. Her lack of understanding of Christian doctrine fails her in the end of the book however. Her theological points are amiss as likely she has not studied it very far and only assumes what an outsider may of any religion. I would recommend this book for everyone to read with an open mind ready to debate the points presented. I gave it 4 stars only for her lack of knowledge on what she was debating against when it came to religion. Dagny is the hero of her story even though I am sure she would argue it is John Galt. In that time and in this women in business are not taken seriously often. A simple scandel would ruin their lives. Yet Dagny keeps going no matter what is thrown at her by corrupt politicians, scientists, and the general public. Those who know her well worship her, those who do not think she is a cold hearted *****. Still a stereotype about business women today. Even though it is over one thousand pages, it is a easy read."

Exciting idea not surprising to know Ms Rand has a following even today

"Exciting story & concept that fits with my perceptions"

Too much text in too small a package.

"This book is too big to fit in a mass-market paperback. That made the experience of reading quite uncomfortable. Having the pages so density packed with text was distracting to the experience. I’m basically just repeating myself at this point."

A writer of great power. She has a subtle and ingenious mind and the capacity of writing brilliantly, beautifully, bitterly. (The New York Times)
Born February 2, 1905, Ayn Rand published her first novel, We the Living, in 1936. Anthem followed in 1938. It was with the publication of The Fountainhead (1943) and Atlas Shrugged (1957) that she achieved her spectacular success. Rand’s unique philosophy, Objectivism, has gained a worldwide audience. The fundamentals of her philosophy are put forth in three nonfiction books, Introduction to Objectivist Epistemology, The Virtues of Selfishness, and Capitalism: The Unknown Ideal. They are all available in Signet editions, as is the magnificent statement of her artistic credo, The Romantic Manifesto.
