Continuing in a great direction

"The entirety of the story is just one big confrontation between batman and bane, and it's very, very enjoyable for it's own sake, and makes a lot of it's own drama for the difference between the two, but besides the actual confrontation, the actually leading in and additional drama to plot isn't really there. Could've been a lot more enjoyable if the tension and story was allowed to build a bit more first, to add to the actual story. Besides the emotional drama and confrontation between the two, there isn't a large amount of depth or tension to story, besides a few scenes and moments. An issue or two of work would have made the story more ideal."

Great Payoff

"King's Batman was a bit of a slow burner throughout volumes 1 and 2 but the payoff is huge here. The confrontation with Bane is dark, raw, and a pleasure to read. It's something like the Knightfall saga but a lot more compact."

Tom King is great

"When DC Rebirth started I was excited. Scott Snyder run was good but I felt that it was time to give the series to a new writer. So when Tom King got on I was interested to see how it went. I was sadly disappointed with the I AM GOTHAM story. For some odd reason I just couldn't get into it. Then came I AM SUICIDE which I liked for how it developed the Batman and Catwoman relationship. Now it's I AM BANE which I have to say Tom King is actually really good at writing Batman. I like how Batman made bane go through hell in a way to fight The scene with the bat family at the restaurant was funny and great to read. What overall makes this great is the issue in which Batman proposes to Catwoman I hope it works out and Batman can be a little happy for once. Also David Finch art was great again."

Great Psychological Thriller

"The third & final ""I Am . . . . "" trilogy ended with a bang!!! While slow on the start, King has dramatically improved his writing on Batman. The physical & psychological battle between Batman & Bane has been the best . . . . . even better than their early encounters during the Knightsfall Era. King has finally convinced me that Bane is not a one dimensional as I have been perceiving him to be since his first appearance. I enjoyed the wrap up of the various storylines since the start of Rebirth with a surprise epilogue ending that has turned into a prelude of the next set of arcs. I found the Ace story quite humorous and a tip off the old ""The Brave and the Bold"" hat with the team-up of Batman & Swamp Thing trying to find the killer of Alec Holland's father. David Finch, whom I find hot & cold at times, did an amazing job visually displaying the Batman/Bane battle."
