Tami Simon
TAMI SIMON founded Sounds True in 1985 as a multimedia publishing house with a mission to disseminate spiritual wisdom. She has dedicated her life to transformational learning and accelerating spiritual awakening in the world. Tami hosts a popular weekly podcast called Insights at the Edge, where she interviews many of today’s leading teachers and luminaries. She lives with her wife, Julie M. Kramer, and their two spoodles, Raspberry and Bula, in Boulder, Colorado.

“Simon, who founded the Sounds True multimedia publishing house in 1985, when she was in her early 20s, shares stories from 30 years of work and life in this audio-exclusive book that is equal parts how-to and memoir. Using the trademark low, soothing voice she has employed to interview countless spiritual teachers on her programs and podcast episodes through the years, Simon shows herself to be a consummate professional when it comes to the art of narration. Her pacing is excellent and her delivery natural, as if the listener were in the room for one of her popular teaching sessions. Each CD tackles a different topic: finding your path, being true to yourself in the workplace, risking vulnerability in intimate relationships, and listening to wise teachers. In the final session, her delivery slows down considerably as she empowers the listener to engage meditatively with the material, pausing often to allow a message to sink in. With humor and an open heart, Simon invites listeners to partake of the wisdom she has cultivated over the last three decades.” —Publishers Weekly

“Sounds True founder and publisher Tami Simon may narrate most of her memoir with measured phrasing, but her all-in candor rivets attention to her compact guidance as well as her personal journey. With palpable courage and entertaining ad libs, she shares memorable vignettes from her life thus far and abstracts five potent lessons on how to become our 'unprecedented selves.' This happens, she says, when we escape the dictates of the dominant culture and let the karma of life greet us and show us the place we are destined to be. The book is a satisfying blend of insights she's absorbed from hundreds of spiritual teachers and the developmental wisdom of Western psychotherapy. Her authentic-sounding advice that we keep asking questions and become more kind toward ourselves and others will be especially moving for recovering intellectuals.” —AudioFile
